Distinguish the railway station from the coach station

The name Tiburtina is used for several nearby transport facilities, but arriving by train is not the same as arriving at the coach terminal. If your journey ends on a coach, send the operator name and arrival location printed on your ticket. If you arrive by train, send the train number and scheduled rail arrival time instead. The general description Tiburtina is not enough to arrange a precise meeting.

The railway station has several levels and connects different sides of the city. To leave, follow the internal route from your platform to the agreed side; lifts and escalators can affect which route is easiest. With children, mobility aids or several suitcases, treat this part as a real journey. It takes longer than the few seconds immediately after the train doors open.

For Fiumicino, check the rail operator website for connections available from Tiburtina on your date. Do not confuse regional services with the Leonardo Express, which connects Fiumicino and Termini. Read frequency, stops and travel time for the journey actually selected. Trenitalia is the reference for planning the rail connection; an old timetable screenshot may no longer match your trip.

Ciampino needs a separate comparison: the airport determines the route and changes. Consult the Fiumicino and Ciampino guides, then work backwards from the time required by your airline.
